About Us

Our mission is to offer a Supertee medical garment to Australia's sickest and bravest kids as they embark on the toughest fight of their life.

The Supertee

The Supertee is a medical garment that inspires imagination. It provides parents and hospital staff with an easier way to change their child while accessing or bypassing medical lines. Supertee aims to bring convenience, comfort, and the wonders of imaginative play to hospitals in Australia and around the world. We want kids to be recognised as the true superheroes they are.

Thanks to the generosity of everyday Australians, community groups, corporate partners, and trusts and foundations, this award winning product is distributed to children’s hospitals, respite centres and paediatric wards nationwide free of charge.

Since its launch in 2018, the Supertee has been welcomed by all major children’s hospitals around Australia. Charity founder, Jason Sotiris learned firsthand about the challenges children can face as his daughter was diagnosed with a rare life-threatening cancer shortly after her first birthday. Feeling useless and helpless, Jason looked for ways to improve her level of comfort and recovery

Supertee is so much more than a t-shirt; it’s a way to comfort children and families when they need it the most.

When you have a strong reason why, you will always find a way

- Jason Sotiris, CEO

Our story

Life has a strange way of testing people. Adversity affects people in many ways, with some seeing problems and others identifying challenges to overcome.

That was certainly the case for Jason Sotiris and his family.
Life dealt them the biggest challenge of all when their beautiful daughter Angela, at the age of just one, was diagnosed with cancer. Jason, a self-employed tradie, held his daughter close as the doctor broke the devastating news. Scans found tumours throughout Angela’s tiny body, and she was given a 20% chance of beating what was a rare, 1 in 100,000 disease.

Since its inception, Supertee has helped thousands of Australia’s sickest children and their parents. There are 150+ volunteers involved in supporting Supertee nationwide. Supertee won the Australia good design award for social impact in 2019, and the charity continues to grow by leaps and bounds thanks to supporters across the country.

Much more than just a t-shirt

The Supertee is a medical garment that inspires imagination. It is an updated version of the traditional hospital gown, only this time it’s been designed especially for children.

This patented clothing is safe and easy to use thanks to its unique, innovative design. The Supertee provides parents and hospital staff with an easier way to change garments while accessing and bypassing medical lines. Supertee aims to bring convenience, comfort, and imaginative play to hospitals in Australia and around the world.

Supertee is so much more than a t-shirt; it’s a way to comfort children and families when they need it the most.

The Supertee design is practical, inspirational, and 100% cool. There are currently two unique contemporary designs available, both of which are made with high-quality cotton.

Through a wonderful collaboration with The Walt Disney Company as a Design Partner, the Supertee: Marvel Edition was created to empower sick kids in hospital and inspire strength through imagination. With two designs based on the Marvel characters, Captain America & Captain Marvel is MRI and PET Scan friendly with shoulder and side easy-access panels.

Marvel Super Heroes have inspired generations and the Supertee: Marvel Edition allows sick children to connect with the characters’ superpowers to channel their own strength and courage during their toughest battle.

Supertee is looking forward to releasing some exciting new designs in 2024.
